In reply to your despatch of the 14 December last, I have the honour to state that I consider the objections entertained to the recognition in this Government of Mr Burrows senior as Consul for New Granada apply equally to the appointment of Mr Burrows junior as Vice Consul,
and I am unable therefore to recommend the issue of Her Majesty's Exequatur in his favour.
